Enjoy the country
walks on the farm . Stroll down to the hump backed bridge over the Tamar
river, continuing on from this point, or scramble over the wall into the
owner's fields and enjoy the riverside walks (and fishing).
Or take a stroll from the bridge,up the country lane, taking the right
turn into the owner's Well Farm (Well farm is written up on the farm
gate on the road). Proceed along the farm lane and see the big detached
barn conversion house on your left (the famous methodist preacher John
Wesley once addressed crowds from the top window of this very building
when it was still a barn) through the next gate, down the field, with walks
along the remains of a stretch of the old Bude Canal. There are other,
footpath walks from the old village church. For holidaymakers
on Well Farm the remains of the old stretch of the Bude Canal is at the
bottom of the field at the rear of the courtyard.
