Polperro
A real favourite,  picturesque cornish fishing villages.  Dont try to travel by car down to the harbour, instead park at the top of the hill, in the huge car park (£1.50p for 2 hours and £2 for 4 hours 2006). After parking you can choose between five  different means  to take you down to the harbour.  Why not enjoy the attractive  15 minutes stroll down to the harbour instead, passing  pretty eating places and cottages, down to the main part of the village and the harbour.  The not so energetic can take  the Horse Bus (75p each way plus an ice cream-2006), the piscie carriage, the landrover (it is free on the return journey!) and the Polperro Tram Company little bus-all at low rates.  If you do choose to walk you will not be disappointed to have made the effort. At the end of the walk is the greater part of this pretty village, with colour washed cottages, and an array of shops, cafes, restaurants  and old pubs with lots of outdoor seating- fish menus with locally caught  fresh fish. Proceed to the delightful harbour where there is a colourful array of fishing and sailing boats. Conveniently, boat trips to Looe and Fowey & fishing trips for mackerel from Polperro harbour (advertised on the quayside).  There is a small  little sandy beach which lies adjoining the harbour and is visible at low tide.
